Dublin, Ireland


Dublin is the largest city and the capital of Ireland. It is located near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast. The best time to visit it during the May and June. There are the mild winters, cool summers, and lack of temperature extrems. It has long summer days, 19 hours of daylight and short winter days, as short as 9 hours. The city has a population of 1.6 million people. The city's population is expanding rapidly. The name Dublin is Hiberno-English deritative of 'Dubh Linn'. In Irish language, 'Dubh' means black and 'Linn' means pool. Historically, in the traditional Gaelic script used for the Irish language. The French-speaking Normans omitted the dot and spelled the name variously as 'Develyn' or 'Dublin'. Dublin is famous for shopping spot for both Irish people, and also sea port. There are many places to visit in Dublin such as Dublin Castle, Custom House, The Grand Canal, The River Liffey and so on.
